Okra-derived dietary Carotenoid lutein against Breast Cancer, with an Approach towards Developing a Nutraceutical Product: A Meta-analysis Study

Objective: Cancer chemoprevention with phytochemicals such as “lutein” derived from the vegetable okra could prove beneficial. Therefore, objective of this study was to perform a meta-analysis against breast cancer cell lines (MCF-7) and establish possible development lutein based nutraceuticals.
 Methodology: A literature survey performed using online data bases PubMed, Google scholar, EMBASE, 2000 2020 by keywords “Lutein”, “Anticancer activity”, “Breast lines”, “MCF-7”. Studies reported anticancer potentials MCF-7 were included in study.
 Results: Out 28 studies, 7 research articles fulfilled inclusion criteria. Meta-analysis indicated that, concentration at ≥1 µM able reduce viability 59.837 95% confidence interval (CI): 48.331 71.343. Additionally, forest plot cumulative studies also that impact around 60%. Moreover, I2 value 74%, which is considerable heterogeneity.
